My friend recently showed me this awesome game called Audiosurf. It’s a relatively new game of a hybrid genre: it combines elements from music games (DDR, Guitar Hero, Rock Band), puzzle games (Tetris, Falldown), and racing games (F-Zero X). You load any mp3 song you have on your computer into the game. The game then reads the music file and then creates a track for the particular song.
The track will undulate to the beat of the song, and blocks are placed on the lanes of the track. There are different modes with different rules, but in general, you want to collect the colored blocks, and dodge the gray ones. There are also various power-up items.
My favorite aspect of this game is that you can load any mp3 music file into the game and play the game while enjoying your music.
You can get Audiosurf from Audio-Surf.com for $9.99. Currently, they are offering a 50% discount for $4.99, but I have no idea how much longer they will offer it for the reduced price. I think this game was worth more than the $4.99 that I paid for it, but let me warn you… it’s addicting and fun!
Here is a screenshot from the game:

There is a two-player mode! Here’s a video demo:
